Light - Reflection and Refraction: NCERT Solutions

Is chapter mein hum light ki do important phenomena - Reflection aur Refraction ko padhenge. NCERT textbook ke saare exercises aur in-text questions ke solutions niche diye gaye hain. Har answer ko step-by-step explain kiya gaya hai taki concept clear ho jaye.

Part 1: Reflection of Light

Reflection woh process hai jab light kisi surface se takra kar wapas laut aati hai. Isme do main types hain: Regular reflection aur Diffused reflection.

  • Laws of Reflection: Yeh do laws hain: (1) Incident ray, reflected ray, aur normal sabhi same plane mein hote hain. (2) Angle of incidence always equal hota hai angle of reflection ke.
  • Spherical Mirrors: Inke do types hote hain: Concave mirror aur Convex mirror. Concave mirror real image banata hai, jabki convex mirror hamesha virtual image banata hai.

Important Formulas - Reflection

Mirror formula: 1/f = 1/v + 1/u. Yahan f = focal length, v = image distance, u = object distance. Magnification formula: m = h'/h = -v/u.

Part 2: Refraction of Light

Refraction woh phenomenon hai jab light ek medium se dusre medium mein jaati hai toh uska speed change hone ki wajah se uska rukh change ho jata hai.

  • Snell's Law: Yeh law batata hai ki sin i / sin r = constant. Is constant ko refractive index kehte hain.
  • Lens: Lens ek transparent material hota hai jo dono sides se curved hota hai. Iske bhi do types hain: Convex lens (converging) aur Concave lens (diverging).

Important Formulas - Refraction

Lens formula: 1/f = 1/v - 1/u. Yahan f = focal length, v = image distance, u = object distance. Lens maker's formula bhi important hai numericals ke liye.

NCERT Exercise ke Numerical Solutions

Question: Ek convex lens ki focal length 15 cm hai. Agar object ko lens se 30 cm door rakha jaye toh image kahan bane gi? Solution: Lens formula use karen: 1/f = 1/v - 1/u. Diya gaya hai: f = +15 cm (convex lens), u = -30 cm (object distance hamesha negative). Formula mein daalne par: 1/15 = 1/v - (1/-30) => 1/15 = 1/v + 1/30 => 1/v = 1/15 - 1/30 = (2-1)/30 = 1/30. Iska matlab v = +30 cm. Positive sign batata hai ki image real hai aur lens ke right side par 30 cm ki doori par bane gi.

Chapter ke Practical Applications

Is chapter ki concepts humare daily life mein bahut jagah use hoti hain. Jaise ki:

  • Spectacles mein lenses ka use
  • Microscope aur telescope ka design
  • Periscope mein reflection ka principle
  • Camera aur human eye ka kaam

In sabhi cheejon mein light ka reflection aur refraction ka principle kaam karta hai. Isliye yeh chapter class 10 science ka ek important chapter hai jo aage ke classes mein bhi kaam aayega.

Final taiyari ke liye, saare formulas yaad rakhein aur har type ke numerical ko practice karein. Diagram banana na bhulein kyunki isse concept clear ho jata hai.
